Sara Wade has inherited Harrogate, her paternal grandmother’s Louisiana plantation. Though it’s unheard of for a single woman to live alone in 1850, her mother, who is embarrassed by her daughter’s ability to see ghosts, encourages Sara to go so she doesn’t have to explain Sara’s “affliction” to her friends. Sara, who is more than fed up with being offered up on the matrimonial market to less than desirable prospective husbands, couldn’t be happier.

Not until she arrives at Harrogate does she realize that the house holds more than her freedom. It also holds her destiny with the ghost who loved her in another lifetime and is determined to win her back. But all is not peaceful at Harrogate. Another ghost resides there who is just as determined to keep them apart, even if it means killing Sara.

Destiny awaits in the Garden of the Moon.

Wow. This is one of the worst books I have ever read. It was so full of typos it read like a first draft that hadn't even been spell-checked. The dialogue wasn't well done, the prose was often awkward and Sara was the biggest idiot on the planet. She finds Maddy's diary and and is excited to read it to learn more about the past. However, for some reason she doesn't read it but continues to be so desperate to learn more that she searches the attic hoping to find something that will tell her more about the past. She never thinks to read the diary until a ghost reminds her that she has it and should read it. Duh. So then the first time she reads it she travels back in time. Later, she tries to figure out how to return to the past and tries sitting in the same location, holding the diary and a mug and necklace she had the first time and becomes despondent when it doesn't work. She never once thinks to read the diary. She is so upset she goes 2 weeks without eating or sleeping and eventually collapses and needs a doctor. She recovers but still doesn't think to read the diary. Eventually she decides to read it again and is shocked when she goes back in time. Well, duh, Sara. Another annoying thing was the repetitiveness. For example, when we are first introduced to Julie it is stated that she knows about Sara's "gift" and has always believed her and that was one reason they were such good friends. Then the same thing is stated again a page or two later. There are many things wrong with the plot and the timeline but I won't get into all of them. The absolute most ridiculous thing though was SPOILERS finding out that Katherine was illegitimate. The only reason Jonathan was betrothed to Katherine instead of Maddy was because Katherine was supposedly the oldest twin. Why in the world would the parents decide to claim the illegitimate child was the first born, knowing that tradition and society would favor her as eldest? They were supposedly twins so it's not like anyone would have known if you said it was Maddy that popped out first. I just think it is utterly unbelievable that Maddy's mother would agree to calling Katherine the first born.
I really hate to be so harsh on a book. I know that, despite all the flaws stated and the numerous flaws I didn't mention, the author surely worked hard on it so I hate being mean. Honestly though, this book has no business being published. Not in it's current state anyways. Please don't waste your time reading it.

It was a good story but not her best works.
great book loved it hard to put down
Easy to follow story and very exciting. I would highly recommend this book to anyone interested in a mystery love story.
I truly enjoyed this story. It is well written describing the time the era of both involved in this story. The evil verses good. The why of how the evil became!
This is a heart felt love story set in historic New Orleans and plantations nearby. Beautifully descriptive writing, and a little mystery!!

Grab a glass of something bubbly and devour this in one sitting!
Sara is leaving New Orleans for her grandparents estate because her mother is freaked out by her talking to ghosts, and is embarrassed by the fact that she hasn't found a suitable husband at 27, and that's unacceptable in 1800's society. Once there, strange things are going on, especially when she is told she will find her true love, but he is a ghost! Free download
I've read romance for many many years and I know how they go. But this one...there's so little interaction between the hero and heroine he doesn't really need to be in the story. And after a two minute conversation and a chaste kiss, she's so in love she'll die for wanting him. Huh? And as another poster said, the heroine only goes back in time (for a few minutes at a time) 50 yrs. Her grandparents would be alive. She'd be alive in the time of her parents and even herself because she was 27 at the time of the story. It just made no sense. And the hero isn't in love with her - he's in love with the woman she's the reincarnation of (that's a horrible sentence but you try and word it correctly). How could he fall in love with her - he never meets her. I only finished because I hate not finishing the book more than I hated skimming through the majority of the book. Dialogue, plot,characterization...all just awful.
